Default GeForce 6200 128Mb graphics card : Brand new boxed

PNY GeForce 6200 128Mb AGP graphics card.

My cousin bought this recently and from some bizarre reason thought it would fit in her laptop....lol.

She got it from that large high street PC place ( land of the purple shirts ).

When she found out it wasn't a laptop card ( I know...she's not too PC savvy!!! ) she attempted to return it for a refund.

They gave her some run around nonsense about not being able to refund on it as it was not opened in a "dust free environment".

So it's brand new, never been fitted or used and comes boxed with the receipt.

It was £39.95 ( as mentioned, receipt included )

    Looking for £25 inc P&P.

She's just given me it for free as it's no use to her, so I thought I would offer it up here for sale so she can recoup a bit of cash from it as the guys in the purple shirts wont play ball!!!.

    Will post pic's tomorrow.

    Cheers.

IF you want to return a opened product try telling the store that you would accept a refund of the item minus 10%,as this is what they will sell it on at, they have to sell it as a preowned product by law thus lowering price . Most stores will do this because they are then not losing profit due to people picking wrong items. Next time get advice before buying because if advised wrong then the store has got to offer full refund.

Apparently what PC World told my cousin was that they cannot sell the graphics card once it has been opened and returned - hence according to them, it gets sent for "destruction".

Which I can't understand as that would actually imply that they do take items back for refund even if opened.

But I have heard this line being spun before, I once took a memory stick back as it would not work in a laptop I had and they told me something similar.

Stood there arguing with the guy till I was blue in the face, but to no avail and ended up selling it on eBay.

Last chance before I stick this up on eBay or just keep it for a spare test GPU.

Sorry mate sometimes people take company policies to far, unfortunetly I can't interfear with other stores, I can only advise on what I would regard as a solution in my store. Cheers
