    Default PC Help!!

    Got a problem with my pc, i have no sound

    Yes the volume is up and it is connected in the right ports, but the message come up that there is no sound/audio device,when you go into device manager there is a question mark by the multimedia audio controller and the by the vidoe controller, i have tried running the windows update,to update the drivers but still comes back with nothing....

    Anyone got any ideas?

    looks like you need to install the original driver that came with your soundcard that should do the trick

    How you do that?
    The soundcard is the original one i had when i brought the pc.

    If you let me know the name and model of the sound card and what operating system you are running I will find some drivers for you

    if cornishpirate cant help you will need to locate the discs that came with your computer your drivers will be on one of those if you dont have them your only other option is to try and download them off the internet provided you know the name of your soundcard if its intergrated with your motherboard then you will have to go to their web page and download them from there

    Not sure on the soundcard will look see if i have it down somewhere, but im using Windows XP on a packard bell pc

    Which MB have you got, it'll probably be onboard sound, and most probably a Realtek sound chip.

    We had the Mb replaced a few months ago by "the tech guys" as the last one went bang!

    so not sure what they put back into the box....

    We did have sigmatel audio before, if thats any help

    Just let us know what model of Packard Bell it is and then should be able to direct to driver download
