    Default Megs question

I've seen many posts about using the Meguiers 3 stage, ie- wash, polish, wax. So, I've just been on the megs site and there are literally dozens of different types of wax etc. So my question:

What do you guys use for your 3 stage? Which specific megs products? Or is there a 3 stage pack you can buy? I want a really glossy shine

One more question. How often would you do this process? Obviously I'll do it as soon as I get the car, but how long roughly will it last til it needs redoing?

TBH the stage 3 isn't that good but stage 1 and 2 are fine. Don't get me wrong it will shine up a treat, stage 2 (polish) is what gives you the shine or wet look, a wax or sealant is there just to protect the finish you have achieved so far, so in essence what you need from a wax/sealant is longevity and unfortunately the Megs stage 3 will not give you that. Although if you plan to top it up every couple of weeks then it'll be fine.

EDIT, you first question, the full process should only need doing maybe 2-3 times a year, then wax (with that wax) every month tops (better every 2 weeks). There are far better waxes out there, take a look at the approved traders.

To add I would deffo get the Megs clay kit also.

Your best to go online mate.
I use Megs #16 on my star silver as it works very well in combination with my other products.

But you cant go wrong with Collinite , very very long lasting, months in fact.

Every one will give you different answers as its all down to combinations and preferences but the Collinite seams to go down well with everyone. What colour car do you have?

I used to enter one of my previous cars into show and shine comps fairly regulary. I generally used the 3 stage meg treatment the day before a show (about once a month on average) and would then polish the car with Auto Glym Super Resin on the day of the show and used to get an amazing finish. I did also polish the car at least once a week with Auto Glym which always kept it looking pucker! Hope this helps! As previously said though it is definately down to personal preference at the end of the day
