    Default 200bhp

So, the big number. Anybody got any ideas how to get 200 reliable horses from a Vectra 1.9cdti 150 without smoking like an old dudes pipe? New to the forum, but looking through the old posts, a tuning box, panel filter and zorst seems to be pretty popular. Also, chip or tuning box?? I'm not even sure what a tuning box is.
    Cheers all

you will get 193bhp with a caterman box and with a remap about185-190bhp or go the nutron way

    What Ian said.....

a remap is better than a box, but you can get 193bhp from the caterman box for £70, so you just can't beat it for power/cost..

Yep, with a box or remap, some make 185 some do over the 200bhp mark. Bit of pot luck really.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

i think it' only me and nutron that get above the 200+ bhp mark but all the mods needed do start to cost

i would say the caterman box will your best start at £65 you will love what you get,,, around 190 bhp on some

a good map will get you around 185 bhp but it's a far better drive than a box its not just pump more diesel into the car to make it faster

Get a remap and a Water methanol kit, that should be able to take you to a clean 200bhp.

Most remaps get 185-190bhp After that you'll be smoking noticeably. A water methanol kit can then give you another 10-20bhp (usually closer to 10).

    Question 200hp

Some good ideas there folks ta. I take it by re-map you mean a chip? I've been playing with n/a petrol cars for years but never diesels or turbo's. What is a water methanol kit and what does it do and how much?? Full of questions me eh?
Great site by the way. Normally forums are something I'm not into as they tend to be a bit...... square.......

A remap is a bit like a chip..but it's been done directly onto the cars ECU via the diagnostic port..the days of taking the ECU apart to change chips is over..

They are much better than boxes as they are kinder to the engines..the boxes just chuck excess fuel in and leave the engine to cope with it..wheras a remap will alter the rest of the engines parameters to cope with the increased fuelload..

Water/methanol injection involves a spray of the mix being shot into the inlet manifold as the engine is running..the methanol is burnt as extra fuel and the water stops detonation of the methanol/diesel mix destroying the engine internally. Nutron has looked into this quite deeply, hopefully he'll tell you where he obtained his kit from..
