This back pain "lark" seems to be quite a common ailment judging from the replies.
We all need some sympathy from our wifes "etc".

have 3 crushed virtibrae in the base of my spine from an RTA about 15yrs ago, dicloflenac or ibuprofen for the pain it causes, and either a heat wrap or deep heat for the keeping it warm............not had to use either for a long time so finger's crossed.........

I feel really sorry for you, I have had 2 opperations on my lower back and still not right and now disabled.
First opp was a discectomy and crock decompression and fro injury to being back to work was just over 2 years. Then my back went again and I had all types of things done to me but nothing helped ,so I had more surgery, except this time it was BIG TIME and involved 4 screws and 4 brackets and 2 wedges( Not Potato) and a 12 inch cut. Vertuly had to learn to walk again and has took ages to get where I am today and this was done November 2006.
Not trying to frighten you but be prepared for a long and painful time, and to top it all this has destroyed 2 business's for me.
Maybe one day we will meet and I can tell you more if you really want to know everything as I could be here all night.

Oh alright I'll save ya Ed....

Wind the lumbah support out as far as it will go in the car, this will help contour your old decrepid spine

Get Larisa to get some body oil (looking up already eh) and work it up from the base of your spine (and I mean the base not the carry handle ) using her fingers outstretched get her to roll pressure where it hurts most.

    And no kinky sheet

Used to have it, then had the op and touch wood been fine ever since.

The wife has it and uses a TENs machine she got from Boots and swears by it. Puts the pads on and plugs in, programe 3 and away the pain goes.

Has to be careful shopping though, make sure the wires don,t show or everyone will run from the shop screaming.
