    Default What parking sensors?

I am looking into getting some parking sensors fitted to the rear bumper. I've decided I don't want a display, or camera, so have settled for an audible device. All the kits I have seen give a constant beep at 30cm's. Ideally, I would like them to not give a constant until about 20 cm's. Any ideas which kit to get???

By the time you react to the 30cm warning you are 20cm away from the wall.

I would assume that 30cm gives us mere mortals is bit of room should you be distracted.

Most bought the cheapies from e-bay. I did and they work fine although if you have an estate the reversing wire is difficult to locate.

Yes easy to do. The position of the sensors are on the inside of the rear bumper. Take the bumper off and you will see them.

There are numerous threads on the subject just stick in "reversing sensors" in the search and there is a wealth of information.

Just fitted these - they come in black but painted OK and still work despite warnings on other sites about metallic paint giving false returns. Not sure how the paint will fare over time but if necessary I might 'upgrade' with pre-coloured sensors. Cheap as chips but they work. Tried them taped on before taking the irreversible plunge and drilling the holes in the bumper. Wires are run behind the bumper and in through the nearside rear light cluster. Control box is in the nearside rear compartment and the display is on the nearside bit of fixed parcel shelf just behind the rear seat release. Pictures if required.
