Default Strange noise when starting 2.2.....

this is starting to happen abit too often for my liking, when you go to start it up after it has been stood there is a really nasty metal on metal sound for about 2/3 seconds which then stops, you can then turn off the engine and restart 4 or 5 times before its heard again the engine sounds normal when its revved up and driven. (yes ive checked the oil) could it be the starter motor?
    its a 2.2 sri petrol 03 reg

The vid is of my Car. Have been advised that it could be a sticky lifter. 10w40 oil helps it a little as is thicker, but it tends to do it not on a cold engine, not on a hot engine but on a warm one, say you have been shopping and come back to the car.

Yep, I wondered why you mentioned it, then noticed I put an ! instead of a 1 for 10w40 now edited.

Mine's had flush through it a couple of times, sorts it for the first few days, then its back, although that was with Wynn's.
