    Default What a day yesterday

Went to Knowsley Safari Park with the daughter and the wife. Just got into the Lion enclosure and the Freelander brakes down. You have to wait in the car and beep the horn until a "ranger" comes to your rescue.
This guy turned up and asked what was wrong. I said it's not going anywhere .
So he jumps out of his landrover and VERY carefully putt's on the tow rope while looking over his shoulder at the Lions the whole time.

Well we get out of the park into the car-park and i get the AA out.
10 mins and he's their . Say's it's the lead from the coil to the distributer. So he changed it for a new one. I test the car for 5 minute's around the car-park and all seams well. Off the AA man go's. I get into the car again to set off home as the weather tuck a turn for the worse.
Just gets out of the gate of the park and again the car dies.
I phone the AA again and they turn up again in 15 min's
This new guy check's all sorts of stuff and comes down to the rotor arm.
They don't have one so it's on the truck and a lift home.
1 hour wait for the truck and we are away. Buy this time I'm froze to the bone. Well we all get home safe and sound.

I went out this morning and bought new HT leads Distributer cap and rotor arm. Change them all and it's running great now. Job well done me thinks.

Looks like the lions did not get their take away then. Glad it all turned out ok and you got the car sorted, a bit hairy at one point I would have thought.

Yeah its a bummer, Freelanders can only be towed 17miles thats why its a low loader jobby. Happened to me, not surrounded by lions mind you!
