    Default vec c 1.8 04 plate slow pick up

    on pulling away car is hesitant as if short of fuel a bit like turbo lag in a diesel and requires higher revs this happens hot cold any help plz

    If it is a high milage car (over 40k) it may be that a new fuel filter is required. To fit it is a grovel behind the o/s rear wheel, OR, could the air filter be a bit filthy? OR, have you read the items about the air intake/filter box mods? Any or all of these could/may/might cure your problem.

    I think that 36k or 4 years is the milage reccomended for a fuel filter change on 1.8 petrol engines, that is why I used that figure, as over that figure could be seen as "high milage" for that part. I know that when I changed mine at 40k the fuel that came out of the old filter was totally black with sludge from the petrol, so changing it can only be of benefit to the engine. If you do change the fuel filter don't forget to use new clips in the Q/R connectors. Thanks for the posts lads, hope to hear from you again.
