    Default Got myself a new mountain bike...

    I was thinking about one for a while but couldn't really justify it.
    Anyhow my lovely wife () said, "Why don't you get yourself a new one"

    So after a few test rides, I got myself one of these;

    A Marin B17......

    It's brand new but the 2007 model so I got £146 off the 2007 retail price.... and it's a better spec than the 2008 model...

    Will be picking it up next week, and then hitting the trails... Well not literally... Hopefully!

    I am a fairly large fella as well and weigh 15 stones so I needed a bike that was pretty aggresive, and strong enough to put up with me on it, and take a pounding.
    It's got a good spec and has had some superb reviews.
    I got it for £599, which is a big wedge of cash, it was £745 but I got a pretty good reduction as it's the 2007 model! If you say it quick it doesn't sound as much!!
    I am now officially skint........
    But when I pick it up I wont care...

    Fine looking bike! You into trails then? weekend warrior? Used to do a lot of downhill/trails at the weekend but haven't been out in a couple of years. My bike (Sintesi Python) just gathering dust now. Bought the frame and built it up myself - miss the adrenaline rush though.

    Hope you have good times on the saddle!

    I live on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, and about 2 miles from where live we have a large forest with some nice trails and a big Northshore set up. To be honest I am surrounded by decent off road trails/downhills, bit spoilt really!

    Get you treader dusted off and get out there!!
