    Default V6 diesel servicing

An oil and filter change cost me £100 + vat at my local garage! He said it was the most expensive oil and filter change he has ever done! He even got into an argument with his filter supplier after being told that it would be £44 for the filter! He eventually got the filter from the nearest Vauxhall dealer for £43 again he had an argument with them.I would have done the service myself, but the conditions of my extended warranty requires that any work to be done has to be done at a vat registered business.Catch 22 or what!

My first service was done at an independent that has a fixed price of £50.....

He wasn't that impressed when he had to pay £35 for the oil and about £6 for each of the filters!

£43 for a filter just sounds ludicrous!

The Renault Vel Satis V6 dCi uses the same engine. Just priced the filter off Euro Car Parts - £38+VAT.

So, blame Isuzu, they're the cnuts in this case.

oh yes!!.. the 3ltrs bit are all very expensive...

take a 3.2V6 water pump...£25 will see you with a brand new genuine pump..got a 3ltr?..that'll be £140 then please....

The 3ltrs use a lot of oil, and the filters are isuzu sourced, so they really control the prices hard...hence why a 3ltr service is so dear.

yep...also had to pay out for the ridiculously priced filter, and as mark said, they need alot of oil, which doesn't help either.

I almost wish I'd got the 3.2 petrol (GSI) that was standing next to this one I bought.

But still I'm saving on fuel, tax and insurance I suppose.

7.5 Litres of the stuff. The guy who did the service thought he'd forgotten to put the drain plug back in!

They also "flushed" it.Is that a good or a bad thing ?

Depends on who they flushed it, usually a bad thing if they added any chem cleaner type stuff.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
