I have just got ocopy of the haynes manual and looking through the steering suspension chapter they recomend replacing the nuts and bolts for just about every task. Even something as simple as rear struts. Is this really the case?

not on all the parts no.. but on the subframes they are stretch bolts.. it's just haynes covering themselves over stripped/stripping threads..
vx now recomend you replace most bolts when fitting new parts ...if ya buy gen shocks and wheel bearings they now come with new nuts ,,,and they are now throwing out warantee claims that havent had any bolts nuts studs and so on replaced ...
Thanks for the info
