    Default 3.0V6 CDti broken cambelt

    hi was looking at the above today is it worth buying at £3800 its a 2005 with 55k on clock cambelt snapped would it be new engine job thanks

    i dont think its a new enigne, im pretty sure the valves miss the crowns of the pistons

    I'd be wondering why they didn't put a new belt on themselves.I'd also be wondering why the belt snapped at that mileage and why it hasn't been fixed under warranty?

    whereas, as it's a diesel, i'd be fairly sure that due to the amount of squish needed to ignite the diesel fuel, that you'd be looking at a full set of valves at least.....they run much tighter than petrols..

    also, bear in mind that finding another engine won't be easy and if you repair what you have, then don't forget that isuzu parts are very dear...

    did'nt think of this i'll go ask him would it be too much cost/bother then to buy & fix to sell on

    yes, should have said heads...



    However, if it's the right price, then it may be worth it and replacing what has gone. Doubt if all the valves would be bent, or damaged, or if all the pistons are marked either. Depends if you're doing it yourself or paying someone to do it.

    his answer to warranty was it ran out on 18/01/2008 but he thought cambelt change was 80k miles on these engines
    im going get some prices tommorrow see if it worth doing

    what other vehicles use this engine??



    Would VX offer some goodwill, as it's just outside warranty and within cambelt change interval ?
