Default Advice on which sub and amp deal

I have found the following packages on e-bay, however, knowing little about which is best, I am after people's opinions.

In the past I had an Alpine Type R sub and mono alpine amp, quality bit of kit.

I am not after anything that 'expensive' this time, want to spend a max of £150ish.

I have seen the following deals, can anyone tell me if these are any good and/or suggest a better deal.

    Thanks for your help

Personally, I'd be wary of buying anything from ebay these days...what's the rest of your setup, Dave?

Try this JBL deal from CarAudioDirect...same as your second link but from a highly respected supplier.

From a PM I just send Vid - so others can benefit if they wish...

For the money, that JBL package is one of the best you'll find, and it's more than powerful enough to match the stereo.

If you decide to change your front speakers, there's 2 routes to think about...
    1. Just changing the speakers - if you do this, you need to be looking at 6" (16.5 or 17cm) components around the £60 mark. As the stereo only puts out about 25 or 30W RMS per channel, any set of components will manage just fine and will sound incredible compared to the cheap paper factory tosh.

    2. If you want to get a bit more involved and amplify the front speakers too - you need to budget around £100 to £150 for a decent set of components, and probably another £100 or so for the amp itself.

However - as I'm finding out - running cables from an amp to the front doors is an absolute nightmare, and my ICE install is currently on hold until the weather picks up a bit because its going to involve taking off the doors..

OK, I'm bored and on night shift...here's some components you might be interested in when the time comes to upgrade...

Pioneer custom fit - specs aren't great, and they're not that cheap, but they'll sure beat the Fisher Price ones fitted by Vauxhall

Fusion - just because Fusion's associated with Halfrauds doesn't mean its naff. For the price, these are pretty nifty.

JBL - I can personally vouch for these babies having had them fitted in my previous car, the sound is crystal clear.
