    Default Climate Control Knob

Ive just bought a 53 plate Signum Elite last week and its a really nice piece of kit. The only niggle i have is the Climate Control Fan speed knob (the big one in the middle) It seems to have a mind of its own. You turn it and it either goes up or do in any increment it feels like. It wouldn't bother me but it makes the menu system completely unusable, so i can't get to turn the A/C without spending 10 mins wrestling with the dial! Anyone know what it might be and if its easy to fix? Ive had the knob off and behind is a slotted wheel (presume theres an opto sensor in it somewhere) but its sealed so i can't get to it!

Oh and ive just had 2 new front springs as they were both Knackered. Apparently its a common fault. Is this true?

    Many thanks

Yes broken springs are a fairly common fault on most of the vx range

Mine had the same problem as tours, it would jump from one to seven with one "click" of the dial. I had a new control module fitted under warranty and then tech 2'd to the car. No idea on cost as I wasn't paying. hth
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Yes 100% better. I seem to remember it was the climate control module they replaced.

they would have just replaced the switch panel no doubt....poor sensing of the change of rotary dial position..

dead easy to do at home as it just unclips as you pull/prise it forward..

Mark, They didn't change the switch panel with the knobs on in mine. They looked just as they did when it went in, not new at all.

The control knobs pull off. Perhaps they just changed the panel but used the same control knobs.
