    Default OBD Cable and software?????

I keep seeing people mention "Tech2" etc and am curious. On my previous car which was a Mk4 Seat Ibiza TDI I had a OBD cable and software loaded on my laptop which allowed me to see fault codes, change settings etc (power sterring sensitivey was a good one).

So is a similar type of set up available for the Vectra? I am assuming that Tech2 is the VX software but is this available to the likes of me or has someone developed something else that does similar?

I see in eBay that the TIS is available but upon inspection it doesn't do the same as my old Seat software.

    Anybody any ideas/suggestions?

    Cheers,
    Andy

Looks like I might have answered my own question:

    Gendan CAN

and it looks like our friends at Diagnostix might have something as well

    Diagnostix Pro Kit

Not sure if they'll do the job but they look promising

Nice piece of kit if you have the cash. I have added it too the list of things I would have in my "ideal garage".

    It's in their with:

    Four post ramp
    Drive on ramp
    Rolling road
Spray booth plus all the equipment
    Fully kitted out work area
    etc
    etc

a long time friend (went to school with him) has the snap-on diagnostic kit,he's an auto electrician he paid over £2700 for it plus upgrades to software (yearly)but he charges £30 just to plug in and check without any repair to a car so he has more than paid for it in the two years he has owned it.
plus i get to use it now he has the latest software which includes the vec "C"
so bonuses all round, any one around the Blackburn (Lancahire)area(or further if you wish to travel) let me know and i'll speak to him for you
    regards Steve
