    Default 3.0CDTi Spanner light

I had the dredded spanner light come on twice today, both while in 4th at about 3000rpm on 3/4 throttle. The engine was warm too. Both times it went into limp mode and a restart of the engine reset the light. Now, I do not have a light come on and go out when I restart the engine, so has it recorded any fault codes????

Anyone got any ideas what the problem may be? I'm thinking boost pressure sensor but thats only a guess.

I tried to get it to come on again but nothing..... all a bit odd....

egr perhaps.. same happened to mine... it'll get worse over time..f&&ing expensive to fix too

once the engine light goes out then the codes are reset need to get it to stay on... but its the "car " that'll decide that!

I thought the light should come on and go off when the key is turned? To indicate that there are fault codes stored?? I hope its not an EGR fault! Fingers crossed, I have been out for an hour today and its been fine so far.

Forgot to add, last time this happened to mine, it was the boost sensor..... that was fixed under warranty.... this won't be if it keeps happening.....

Mines had same problem for about 12 months, so far had boost pressure sensor, new fuel rail, new manifold and only recently a new MAF fitted.
    Good Luck.
