wheres nutron when you need him!
Mines gone at the mo, but runs fine temp wise. Dont know the ins and outs of taking it off though.
the EGR won't control the running temp... thats the job of the thermostat...If it's running cold then replace the Thermostat first before condeming the EGR valve..
its running hot, between about 80 and 90 degrees, will that still be a thermostat problem because it used to run at around 75.when the car gets hot i start having problems with the engine juddering and smoke from the exhaust.any ideas?
80 to 90 is the correct range... 75 is too cold... so it's not the thermostat...
any error codes?... what colour is the smoke?
took it in to vx and the only code it through up was for glow plugs(which look like a right pain in the a**e to get to)when you put your foot down it kicks out loads of smoke which is white or light grey i think,i thought i would have had the spanner light on with it running so badly
the smoke coming out of the back is black actually sorry to misinform, any ideas, has anyone taken their egr valve off before to clean it/change it/look at it?
Black smoke usually indicated over fueling, this might be a MAFS problem. Do you have a remap or tuning box? My car runs 84-85 Deg when cruising as have all the 1.9CDTIs I have driven.
