    Sorry if its been posted before but i need to know for this weekend...

    1. What size is the torx sump plug and
    2. What size is the Hex on the oil filter housing?

    not sure on the sump plug but the filter housing is 32mm i think

    Thank you both. That socket looks about right, biggest i had was a 32mm and that was a bit too small! Whats the best way of getting the sum plug out ive heard its a bit of an @rse

    take the undertray off...it's on some twist panel fixings... then there's loads of room...remember jack and stands..

    I know that bit lol! I meant best way to take the plug off and get the stuff out.

    Sump plug shouldn't be an issue. Just crack it loose with a ratchet handle and then undo it by hand when you can. I use one of these....



    ....to catch and store the oil until next time I go to the local waste disposal site.

    If your sump plug points backwards then obviously you have to position the oil pan relative to where the oil is going to arc out to. Also best to warm the engine up a bit first so that the oil flows out quicker/smoother and you get as much of it out as you can.

    A piece of advice which stood me in good stead for 20 odd years,before you do anything else don,t forget to REPLACE THE SUMP PLUG LOL as its been known by some,me included to forget to screw it back,result a big pool of oil on the garage floor and 20 quid down the drain.
