    Default NOT ENJOYING MY VECTRA....Help

hi, a couple of week ago i bought an 03 2.2 sri with 57000 miles on it. all seemed well but its starting to make like a wheel bearing noise but the only problem is its not a wheel bearing (apparently).ive had it to two different garages and they say that this is not what it problem is, in fact they have both said that the noise is road noise. having drove the car around with a mate in different seats he reakons the noise is coming from the back os wheel (he too said wheel bearing as soon as he heard it) for a road noise this is very noisy and not something i am willing to put up with. is this a common thing with vectras or have i been sold a duff. the car was immaculate and drove really well on inital inspection, however i bought it private and dont have a dealers warrenty. olso i have noticed that both rear are worn on the inside but the outsides of the tyres are good. any help would be greatly appreciated

    thanks!!

If i'm doing 80-90mph on motorway mine are loud in the car, usually have the stereo up so don't notice though lol!

i would never have guessed this, the noise is really droning, from about 30mph upwards i start to get it. the tyres are dunlop, they look pretty expensive (better that what im likely to put it) wouldnt of expected this from them. any ides why they`d be wearing on the inside? thanks for the quick reply!

i thought this myself, is the back wheels adjustable. do they have track rod ends? and would this be contributing to the noise?

Got the same problem with my work van(astra) so will be good to know the outcome. Im thinkin wheel bearings as well but they seem ok. Very weird. Mine started off as a dull noise and got louder over the weeks.

if i get anywhere i will keep you updated. getting fed up going to garages to be told its road noise. if it is road noise i think there is something seriously wrong with it.

N im guess that anything out of kilter would account for the tyre wear and contribute to the noise factor.
FYI when i first got my 2.t about 4 months ago i had the same concerns bout the noise and after having the bearings checked(all ok) i dont notice the noise anymore. And i am obsessive!!
Just a thought but have you checked tyre pressures? Halfords do a digital gauge which came out tops in a motorbike survey and at under a fiver has been the best investment i've ever made.

try going to kwick fit they do an all singing and dancing tracking alignment for roughly £65 got mine done 2 years ago had four sets of tyres since then and they are perfectly in everytime, before go them done at kwickfit 3 garages used the standard on the tyre alignment and said they were fine, but the kwickfit one is second to none worth saving your tyres mate.
