Just Received a NIP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning all, I just had a shock when I opened my mail and received a NIP from Cambs camera "club".

The car was one I disposed of 2 years ago via a beyond economic repair bump, they have said that the vehicle is registered to me ! I notified the DVLA that the car transfered at the time but obviously the insurance co., the salvage yard and the new owner have not done their bits.

did you get the letter from the DVLA about notification of you no longer owing the vehicle?

Just write a letter explaining, if you have any of the paperwork from the insurance co ref the claim, then copy and include that as well.

Try to give as much info as poss, then if need be they will contact the insurance Co. direct to confirm.

I had one last year for my old Vec B that I part ex'd about 4 years ago.
I completed all the paperwork etc when I part ex'd it but obvioulsy something wasn't done.
Anyhow I wrote a letter and put as much info in as I could and I didn't hear anything else.

had a fine throght the post for tax on mine..after i sold it and did my bits on the v5 and sent it off... luckily they sorted it out after i gave the name, dates, invoices etc of the garage that i part exed it with

Yes there was a letter stating that I had notified the DVLA of disposal.

So I will complete part 3 and 4 and dig out any paperwork I have relating to the incident.

I wonder how long before parking and congestion fines start appearing ?

The driver was doing 44 in a 30, that must be ban territory !

Just a guilty by post and 3 points / £60 fine.

There must be more intelligence in it than that.

Some GATSO cameras dont activate until you hit 42 mph.
When in work a few months ago, I was on a blue light run and went through one at about 45mph. It didnt go Off.
The next day, again on blue lights I went through the same camera at touching 50mph and then it flashed.

Strange..... 50 in a 30 to set a camera off.... scary

I heard that speed limit + 30mph is bannable. Doing 70 in a 30 one bl00dy well should be banned. Hence 100 in a 30. There again could be just an old wife's tale
