    Default Suspension Check

Hi All, Pedders here in australia charge $14 for a 28 point suspension check, is it worth doing, or are they just going to give me a big sell on parts I may opr may not need. I might add, my suspension is currently not displaying any symptoms like noises, uneven tyre wear, loss of steering etc.

Not sure if you have the same saying over there, but we have the one that goes "If it ain't broke, then don't fix it"

sounds like you are paying them to find something wrong then they will charge you. They win both ways.

Thanks for the reply gents, I think I will go with your advice on this one, considering I have been driving my vectra up and down the east coast of Australia many times in the last 18 months without incident, I'll continue business as usual then.

Hi Team, well I ended up going to pedders after all, they found the front and rear shocks were a bit soft and leaking oil respectively (though I am sceptical about that, probably looking to generate business there). more worrying was the fact they reported a play in the right hand side of the steering rack, so off to the stealers tomorrow to get it replaced (they assure me its under my extended warranty) wish me luck, otherwise its gonna cost around $1200 to replace.

they can replace just the RHS side arm.. it's about £30 sterling for the part and you should in no way have to pay for an entire rack.....it's a commonish failing and is an easy repair..

Surprise surprise, the dealer found no real issues with my car, although they reckon they tightened everything on my suspension, and I must say the steering does feel more solid today, so lets see how it goes. I have had 3 different mechanics look at my suspension and all unable to find any major issues.
