    Default Cruise Control not working

    Hi guys
Driving down the M62 earlier today and coudn't get the cruise control to come on.
Anyone got any ideas what i should be checking? Blown fuse, duff relay? or is it a trip to dealers?

Try lifting the clutch pedal up with your foot - the springs arent too strong and sometimes need some help. If this is the case then it will stop the cruise activating....

It won't work unless you have pressed the brake pedal - usually you will do this sometime before needing cruise but if you set off from a stop on the motorway and try to engage it without having used the brakes it won't work. The manual says 'For safety reasons, cruise control cannot be activated until the foot brake has been activated.' Is it that?

Same happened to mine just after I got it. Would only work intermittently. Left it in and they had to order a switch so they held onto it for a day. Dunno what the switch was and as it was under warranty I didn't ask any questions. Sorted ever since though.

If you'd left a services and hadn't braked at any point, the CC won't operate.

If not that, then as also mentioned the clutch spring is a favourite culprit, tested by hooking your foot under the pedal and pulling up a bit to see if it'll let you engage CC.

OK chaps. On the way to picking up missus tried pulling up the brake pedal and clutch pedal, but both are right at the top of their travel so am assuming someone has already done the return springs on them. Tried using the brakes and then the CC but again no joy. But then on the way back it all worked fine??
Looks like a trip to see my friendly local vauxhall mechanic so hopefully it is only a dodgy switch (fingers crossed).
    Ta for the suggestions
