Holidays in Ireland?

We want to spend a week in Ireland this Summer.

Looking for a lodge/cottage somewhere near the coast. (Any coast)

Anybody recommendations either for a specific location or general area?

We'll be taking the bikes too.

I spend a lot of time in Southern Ireland with work.

Especially in County Waterford, I love it down there are the people are great. There are loads of cottages in the Dunmore/Dungarvan, and even Waterford City itself

Have spent many a week in County Kerry. Wife comes from that part of the world.

Apart from the guiness there are numerous places to cycle. Ring of Kerry 100miles long. The Dingle pennisula, Crag cave and the "Irish Americans" favourite Killarney (very touristy with traditional music etc)

If taking the car, Swansea- Cork ferries are good more expensive than the others but cuts out a long drive. You will need a cabin as its a long cruise. They should be back in service this year. If you want to fly and hire bicycles then Ryanair do a cheap service to Kerry. Can get this for a penny and surcharges.

Can't recommend any cottages as I stay with the in-laws and I wouldn't recommend that....

PS it will rain so take some waterproofs.

Went to West Cork two years ago, around Baltimore. Absolutely beautiful area.

I went to a place called Clifden in Connemara. Really nice place, nice blue water and there was an island that we went to (can't remember the name) where we spent the day biking around.
