    Default Sport Relief - Top Ground Gear Force, BBC2 14.03.08 @ 10.00pm

I've always sort of liked Top Gear but this ************* for Sport Relief shows what a bunch of w*****s the Top Gear team are.

This stunt took place a couple of weeks ago 1/2 a mile way from where I live and work. At 1.50pm on the day, there was an almighty explosion caused by the pyrotechnics (not shown on the the VT). The effect of this was to nearly cause the local school to implement its major emergency procedure plan (plane crash, tanker explosion etc,) and Thames Valley Police (TVP) to be inundated with callers reporting an explosion. Only several frantic calls by the school to TVP prevented another crisis

Prior to the stunt, local roads were gridlocked with film crews, emergency vehicles, contractors lorries and cranes but all involved were sworn to secrecy when questioned by locals.

My point - at no stage either before or immediately after the stunt were the local residents informed of what was going on for fear that programme would be leaked. As it happened, the local press got hold of it and all came out in the wash a few days later. So what price do you put on entertainment?

I have to say that Sir Steve Redgrave keeps himself to himself and doesn't do a lot for the community so maybe he deserved this but not at the expense of his neighbours

It's been like this for a while and admin are aware of it, but it always gets through the filter for some reason.

Er, yes, a very good question . I didn't do a "preview post", just clicked "submit".

Mods - sorry if this word is offensive (it was how I felt having seen the programme), can you have a looksee to see how it slipped through?

Must admit I thought it was hilarious!

Steve Redgrave's face was a picture but I would like to see how they replaced it all!

Sorry to you locals but it made brilliant TV!

I luuurve Top Gear but it was all too acted this time around, too staged. I know it was for fun, and I chuckled at some parts but they have done better.

I do believe SR was truly annoyed though
