    Default MOT

My MOT is due on the 4th of April. Am i better taking it to a VX dealer?

Also, what happens if they find something wrong with the car? I've never had any of my cars long enough to do an MOT.........

If anything is wrong then it will fail!. If its not a fail item then it would be an advisory. Do check though if they offer a free retest. Some places have stopped doing this now. Also do it a week or so beforehand so you have time to get the 'failed' items done by them or a local independant garage. Theres no extra advantage in getting Vauxhall to do the MOT because the MOT testers are all running to set guidelines. Its the MOT tester who is qualified not the actual garage.

you can take your car anytime from the 4th may and phone around for prices on mots as the dealer WILL charge full wack which i think is now at £50 and independant garages might be less

    Thumbs up

as above but from 4th march!!!
best to take it to a good smaller garage, usually a bit cheaper as the 50 squid price is the one set by the test agency and sometimes they have offers on.
just be wary of cheap offers though as normally they will fail it on something silly and want to do the work?! ( charging £10 to change a sidelight bulb or align a headlight etc.)
have a look round it,before taking it and do little things i.e check washer fluid and wipers ........

9 times out of 10 you will know if theres a problem that it could fail on whilst driving it regularly!

I love the mot about as much as going to the dentist, eh!!

Many VX stealers offer MOTs but use another garage/MOT test station as they don't have testing facilities themselves. Look out for the MOT test sign and what test station name is on the paperwork
