Kinda. This thread, and this table, explain it....
oh my good lord!!!! £400 for me!!!!!!!
i still dont really understand this for some reason?
Mine is only £205 for the year, is it cheaper in Northern Ireland
It'll be going up next year to the above figures, dont worry
£440 for a vxr aint it?
£415 for my gsi, robbin *******s!
Mine wont.....hahahaha
Its only if the car was first registered on or after the 23rd March 2006!!!
210 quid....!!!
Fraid not mate lol, they've changed it so every car after 2001 is in the new bands... It says at the top of the table.Making the v6 £415 a year..
There was a lengthy thread on it couple of weeks ago... The new bands become effective in april 2009 so if you renew your tax before then you'll get another year at the current "cheaper" rate.....
Well i assume its gonna be the same in NI..!
I only taxed my car 4 weeks ago and it was 210 quid so there is no way it's jumping to 415 quid.
It must be different in NI. Go onto the DVLNI website and look. It says it will only be the higher rate if registered after the said date above ^^^^
Hopefully someone can explain this to me as its wrecking my brain
Have a look here......

They're the old (well current until apr 2009) rates buddy.. It is jumping to that and obv most people on here are pretty ****ed about it!! Take a careful look at the table and u'll see its from cars registered from 2001 onwards (basically when they started measuring the c02 emissions). If you google it you will get some pages about it, and its mentioned in the budget report jobby as well.
Find that report Here
Oh right, now i get it
Thanks very much mate for taking the time to explain.
Cheers
