    Default Fair Cop

whilst on my home today on the A1 in notts i had a dark green facelift vec c behind me i kept getting slowed down then accelerating hard again to next queue well this vec just kept coming i could'nt get rid of it then as i slowed down for newark turnoff

So be warned on the A1 in Notts dark green 3.2 V6 unmarked car 56 reg has little lights on front bumper

anyway he was impressed by how quick my diesel goes i wont tell ya then asked if i wanted a severe telling off which would last 10mins or get his 'book' out hmm think i could spare 10 mins so not only did he drive a decent car but he was a very nice officer aswell

yep it restores your faith in them,
i've been stopped a couple of times ( in 25 years of driving) and had to eat humble pie and have a right old rollocking.

and as you drive away you think about how lucky you were and what a decent bloke he was

i've been pulled over a couple of times in 12 years of driving. both times in my bright red RS2000. the first time i went round a roundabout sideways and the female officer wasn't very impressed... even less impressed that she wasn't able to clock my speed as i disappeared out of sight... and had slowed right down as she finally caught up 2 miles later.

the second time a 'focus' was following me for about 5 miles bumper to bumper around midnight through birmingham. i eventually got annoyed with it for tailgating, so booted it... turned out to be an unmarked mondeo ST220!

both times i received a warning for my actions... although the 2nd time i lost the plot and stopped short of using the word 'entrapment' in my 'speech'!

    good bunch overall though!

I've lost count of the amount of times I've been pulled (mainly in my youth) at 1 point I had 4 producers in my wallet, and got to say every time has been for good reason and all offences were a fair cop.
No point in getting in a strop with them for doing their job. I've never had the "all coppers are" attitude and can take a good rollicking without giving any lip,and think this really sways the coppers decision on how your dealt with.
I'm sure that every force has it's rotten apples, but on the whole they do a job which I myself would not be man enough to do.

A smile, agreeing and a sincere apology goes a long way

I always used to get pulled in my Vectra B just because I was out in it!?! Very popular with the chavs in the area aparently... I got breathilized twice in one night once, I didn't drink at all by that time so it was a little bit of a bore.
