Eden Vauxhall / Inchcape disposal

Apologies if this info has already been posted but Inchcape have dumped their Vauxhall branches in order to refocus their business. The buyer of them is Eden Vauxhall, a new company. The branches affected are Newbury, Reading, Fareham, Honiton and Exeter.

Let's hope we get good service from Eden!

A name change perhaps, but the staff will still be the same, which means generally inept, incompetent, arrogant and lazy.

I'll still never trust them with a car of mine.

Inchcape as a company was owned by an individual.
Several years ago it was sold and the individual took his massive pot of cash and walked away from the motor trade.

Then in 2007 Inchcape decided to get rid of Vauxhall, and a few other garages.

The buyer was the fella who originally owned Inchcape and turned it into the massive firm it has become.

He now owns and operates a company called Eden.

Apparently he is 110% customer care, and is a good bloke to work for.

My local garage has seen a few changes and I have to say so far I have visited them 4 times and had very good service.
Had my car serviced, very good service.
Picked up Sister in laws new car, very good service, and been back twice for a warranty jobbie and again they have been great.
I would say that I have noticed an improvement in customer service since Inchcape became Eden.

Time will tell!

I've used an Eden already that used to be an Inscape. They have changed the managers and seem keen to please. I had my car in, fixed the problem and had not difficulties. This is high praise from me as I'm sure Spoons would confirm (I'm not well know for being satisfied with any service).

They've certainly changed the one here in Reading in that they have finally got rid of a load of cars on the side forecourt and got some form of car parking back! It was crazy as customers couldn't park anywhere!

Newbury used to be like that when it changed to Inchcape - let's hope it improves also. You needed a can opener to get your car out.
