    Default VX Charge.

Well just booked the car in this morning to find out what the F**K the noises are that are coming from my car.
I was politely told that it is 68 quid to get it diagnosed!!!! Does this sound about right??
    Cheers guys.

Yes it sounds 'right' in the fact that the price is about the same as other places.

Whether it is right to have to pay a flat rate is something else. If you have described the problem well, then they will have a good idea as to what the issue is, and diagnosis may be quicker than the standard fee would suggest.

You should not be charged to have a problem diagnosed if the car is under warranty, a dealer gets time to find the problem and claims off Vauxhall accordingly.

In fact I have never been charged when a car is out of warranty. This I think is a dealer taking the ****.

Yeah maybe I shouldn't go online after having no sleep and a killer headache. Clouds the judgement.

My neighbour has a BMW and is taking it in tomorrow for a new headlight to be fitted, he has bought the headlight already. They are going to charge him £86 just to fit it. It should take them about 40minutes they said.

I recently done work on an extension to a BMW garage in Belfast. (Bavarian for those that are local) and i have to say, their workshop was outstanding. Clean as a whistle and had all the latest toys, if that justifys 68 quid an hour thats a different thing.
In saying that but....it looked like all the local reprebates where serving their time there, or serving their community service, hahah

    RIP OFF prices again.

took car to dealer with EML on, they were quiet, 6 minutes later told me cam sensor fault. would be Xamount for part. told them i would do it myself.
They then produced a bill for £95 inc VAT
I said what the **** for??
    Diagnoses was the answer
They had taken 6 minutes to diagnose, works out at £750 per hour.
I gave them a tenner and said at their labour rate of £75 per hour they would not get any more than that for 6 minutes work.
    Never been there again!!!!!
