The uk supplier might not have got them from Goodyear, especially if Goodyear's prices were a bit expensive.

Not saying that's what happened, but a possibility?

They are probably grey imports which Goodyear will have no control over.

Just fitted my second front set of F1s (made in Germany) yesterday, the ones that look like this: -

Price has gone up to £100 each for 215/55/16 but I wouldn't buy anything else, as long as these remain available.
    Great boots!

I saw someone post on here a year ago that that the above tyres were being phased out, but there's no sign of that happening. Maybe they were mistaken.
The other type of F1 looks like this: -

    Hi,

Just to let you all know Goodyear tyres are no longer made in Germany and all tyres come from China and Thailand.
I just bought 4 new tyres knowing that you don't want the ones from Thailand, where were they made Thailand!
They did have an E number stamped on but a call to Goodyear was needed to comfirm that they were a European tyre which they are and they say the German branch has closed down.
Just make sure the tyres are E marked and not the imports that were about a year or so back.

    Chris
can you tell me where this e-number is on the tyre thanks

its in a little circle with a e and a number ie e18 something like that on the sidewall also if its got made in thailand on the sidewalls take them back to where you got them from as goodyear has confirmed that these tyres should not be sold in the uk

    Default Updated info

Hi guys, after spending a sleepless night worrying if the local tyre dealer is going to try to mess me about with the wrong country tyres, I emailed Goodyear so I would have some ammunition to throw back at the dealer

As the tyres Im now aving are the asymmetric type, it DOESNT make any difference where there made.........BUT

if there made like you already now, In THAILAND, then they are NOT for the UK roads

here is the email Ive just received from Good Year

    Thank you for your email,

I assume you refer to the pattern Eagle F1 GSD3

In size 225 45 r 17 the F1 GSD3 is now replaced in the UK by the F1 Asymmetric. When the 225 45 r 17 F1 GSD3 was marketed, Goodyear UK only recommended purchase of 225 45 r 17 F1 GSD3 that were either made in Germany or China.
