Oh no just checked mine 1 week old made in Thailand What can i do to put this right?
just checked mine after reading this, all four made in china phew
i would go back to the tyre dealer and ask them how they got these tyres when goodyear only supply tyres from china and germany for the uk.
then i would get them to change them all, or tell them you will take the matter further as it is a safety issue as the tyres you have on are ment for hot countries
Just been on The forum in the top link Apparently Most of the tires are now made in Thailand and as long as they have the number E13 Or E5 on them they are for European use. Anybody any thoughts??
Ok this is the link for anybody intersted.

Hi,
Just to let you all know Goodyear tyres are no longer made in Germany and all tyres come from China and Thailand.
I just bought 4 new tyres knowing that you don't want the ones from Thailand, where were they made Thailand!
They did have an E number stamped on but a call to Goodyear was needed to comfirm that they were a European tyre which they are and they say the German branch has closed down.
Just make sure the tyres are E marked and not the imports that were about a year or so back.
Chris
I would agree with grumpano. Apparently the only sure way to tell are the various e-marks on the sidewalls. Those without are illegal to fit in the UK. I had two F1s fitted on the front about a year ago. They were made in Thailand and it turned out had no e-marks. I went back to where I got them and they changed then for some Dunlops without any questions. I suspect that they knew.
mine were made in germany
I know there seems to be a lot of tyre threads atm the mo, but i wanted to disscuss the goodyear eagles gsd3 f1's specifically. one thread touched upon the problem with Thailand produced versions - tyres produced for the uk are made in germany or china, tyres for hotter climates are produced in thailand. These thailand versions dont like our colder climate and perform badly. this is only forum folklore so far as i can see yet? Nothing confirmed from goodyear yet?
My mate needed tyres last week pronto and i need some soon so we have been looking into it. Having looked at tyrereviews.com the f1's have good reviews and they seem to provide best grip/longevity for buck. noting the problem with where they are produced though we rang around.
Two of the four tyre places we intially rang only had the thai versions?! Is this something we should be reporting to goodyear? my mate eventually went with his local as they were the more expensive end - cheaper quotes tended to be the thai versions.
All well that ends well?
Nope
picks the car up, comes over to meet me and he wasn't happy. He has no confidence in the car, he says its driving horribly and feels like its on ice - you guessed it, his local has fitted thai f1's.
He was going to go back to them on saturday but i havent heard from him so dont know the outcome yet.
If they are unwilling to help, does he have any recourse? surely they are unfit for this market and its just them trying to rip us off?
What do you guys think?
Think he needs to find why its driving like its on ice, could be nothing to do with the tyres, may need a 4 wheel alignment check, also how many tyres did he buy??
