Don't forget the NET has a lot more emission controls, as it's basically the Saab engine that's used worldwide, including over in the US.

The old C20LET doesn't have those emission controls, which means they're a lot easier to tune, but the side effect is small bunny rabbits choke to death when one goes by. I mean, you rev a LET and the earth heats up by 0.01C.

Would it also be fair to say that the let is older so more parts etc are available?

i have been tuning them since i brought a k reg in 1995 the list is nearly endless! You say about the c20let emmisions but my signum is the highest tax/worse emmisions grouping - would a decent quality cat bring emmisions down to what they need to be for a 04 plate mot

thinks its a straight forward swap mate the mounts are the same etc. you will have to change the loom and ecu though as i do think there different. as for the emmissions as said asbove the newer engine has more stigent controls but as long as you keep the cat on it may b ok?

As already said mate ECU, loom would be the main things if the mounts are the same, but I doubt they will be. There is one more bracket above F for road tax and as for tuning the NET give it time and I'm sure they'll be a lot more available for it in the future.

Just remember when the Red Top came out they said it couldn't be tuned, now look at it! Time will tell on the NET, the more time goes by the more tuning options will become available.

Physically mounting it in the Vectra C is the easy bit.

But the can bus and management is another issue, it is virtually impossible to get Vectra C can bus to accept a C20 LET, I would not even entertain the conversion, it won't work.

Courtenay have even canned the idea of supercharging the 2.2 engine 9Which is the same as the (Z20NET) but without a turbo.

The main reason, is there is no way they can get the can bus to accomodate the fact that a supercharger is there.

In America. they are tuning the Z20NET type engine to over 600bhp. The Z20NET is a better engine than the C20LET, it has steel rods and under piston spray jets as standard, you could always built a top spec Z20 NET, and get the likes of BSR to map it. I see no reason why over the next few years, we will be seeing 300+ Z20 NET cars about.

I know Courtenay are going to be working on different stages of tune for the Z20 NET over the next few years.
