Default My CDTi goes with a thud !

    Hi,
I have a 2005 1.9 CDTi 150 BHP Signum, Its an automatic, and recently when it changes up gears and the revs around 3000, it suddenly revs up to abut 4000, when I take my foot of the accelerator, in drops down to around 2000 with a large THUD. ....It does not happen all the time, but it seems to be getting more often. Its got around 50K on the clock. Any ideas ?

Check your gearbox oil, if it looks like a Mcdonalds strawberry milkshake, the oil cooler seal has gone, the car shouldn't be driven as it can and will completely destroy the gearbox internals.

My mates 2.2 auto went the same way but his was out of warranty, as stated the seal on the oil cooler goes and it wrecked his box, I would get it into the stealers and report it now, if you have any warranty left they should honour it even if it does go bang when the warranty is out if you report a problem now. (hoping you still have some warranty left)
Despite the cost of living it still seems popular!

Thanks guys, took it to Opel this morning, who tech 2'wd it, and could find nothing wrong, passed on what you guys said, he looked around with a torch, check the red fluid in the plastic bottle (show'w what I know about cars !!!) said he will upgrade my software (any idea what he did upload from the tech 2 ?) and then took it for a couple of miles spin with me. of course she went without a hitch. He told me that the new software may show somehing up, and that I should drive it around for a while, and see what happens.
