    Default vvt or not vvt

    Hi i have a Vextra 1.8sri it is the facelift model with a 55reg plate.I`m just wondering if this has the bigger 140bhp engine????? Not mechaniclay minded but just love me Vectra!!

    Yes it will be the Vvti if it's a facelift.

    just wondering what you thinkk of the performance from the 1.8 engine?

    I'm pretty happy with it. A little more mid range grunt, for overtaking etc would not go amiss, but I think it's a pretty good blend of performance and economy.

    If you rev it, it does like to be revved, then it does go very well.

    You will find a lot of mixed opinion over the VVt lump on here!

    Having driven other VVT engines in the past, I am impressed with the power that they can achieve over NA lumps of the same saize.
    Not had a go in the 1.8 Vx engine but who knows, might have a trip to the local stealers for some 'play time'

    Default flat spot

    just wondering if you get a flat spot when accelarting with this engine..I get a real flat spot when giving the gas in third gear..

    do the airbox mod, takes the flatspot out, well it did on mine,lol and go for a K&N panel filter too, makes it seem a bit more nippier

    the airbox mod will sort that out.
    I am still running the original filter, not a K&N or likewise but the airbox mod alone helps the engine breath better and gets rid of the flatspot.

    will try and get it done this week if the weather improves and then hopefully my Flatspot will improve lol!!!!
