Default what should the power be like under 2000rpm

    hi got a 1.9 cdti 150
just wondering what the power should be like under 2000rpm
in 1st and 2nd never had a deisel before so not sure if mine has a problem or not
seems a bit sluggish until turbo kicks in then goes like a train
if i had egr or inlet manifold problem would engine light come on
    cheers

As above, the 1.9s have shocking lag under around 2,000 rpm - a lot of guys have said the same as Pete. You just have to give it a bit of revs when pulling off into roundabouts etc. - or get a remap! lol

Modified they kick in hard from 1500rpm but as standard they don't want to know until that turbo wakes up.

i'm used to driving a 2 litre N/A petrol RS2000 with nearly 170bhp. it pulls instantly and has amazing throttle response. the veccy is shocking until the turbo spools up, but once it does...it's beautiful! lol! i think the veccy pulls harder in standard form through the mid range than my modified RS! overall i prefer the drive because of all that torque - makes it worth while!

as said, if you want some power low down give it some revs - then you're off!

nope , only way to get shot of the lag is a remap , tuning boxes make a differencr but the lags still there , except shooting off turns into shredding tyres then shooting off ... in all directions with the torque steer

No not really. Hence the reason I opted for the V6.....
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
