    Default The Dental Report

Ok, where to start, today after a bit of a wait I had

    1 - Filling
    1 - Extraction
    1 - Cleaning Session

After finding an NHS dentist who would take me on I was assigned to what I believe is a Polish lady, well! to say ultra professional is an understatement, absolutely no pain, teeth are now teeth coloured again and old stinky is gone, broke up on extraction and I nearly gagged at the smell coming from it, she did offer to deep root it but advised against it also, so I went with her opinion and had it out, when it's dead it's dead is my motto and there's no point prolonging the issue, anyway the real point here is I avoided the dentist for two reasons cost and pain, all this lot came to 43 quid with the checkup, compared to 60 for the last private extract and the 80 quote for a filling, I now wonder if these Euro dentist's are bringing over new methods that we haven't bothered to consider previously, even on the checkup I wasn't subjected to the usual pin in the tooth method, instead she blew air over the teeth and those that needed looking at gave a tingle, I now regret not going for so long, as I've lost three teeth that had I gone regularly I would still have, so there's the lesson, don't be scared and neglect to go.

It seems that the dental standard in Eastern Europe is to a Very High Standard. My Private Dentist was amazed at the high level of work done on my wifes teeth. She used a Dentist in Riga.
Daft as it sounds if you know where to go in Eastern Europe, it would not cost much more to go over there for a few days and get your teeth done as to pay for private treatment over here.

The wife works within the community dental service up here, it was handy being able to ask her which dentists were best to go to (ALWAYS GO FOR A NEWLY QUALIFIED DENTIST OVER ONE THAT HAS BEEN AROUND FOR 20+YRS)

My current dentist you don't even feel like she is doing anything, then your done. Bonus.

I would hate to have problems finding NHS dentists, luckily this doesn't seem to be a problem up here.

Had two route canals done in Russia after a filling I had in the UK went wrong and the facilities were much more modern than here and it cost me £50.00 all in.
