Default Interior Trim Damaged - Can it be repaired ?

Just noticed that I have (more likely the kids !!) damaged the rear door interior trim. Its the rippled plastic/vinyl piece to the top right of the silver chrome panel.

Can this be repaired. My brother suggested holding a the cars cigarette lighter close to the damaged foam and it will reshape to the original look, with only a fine line where the trim is split. He works for Mercedes and has seen the repair done to dashboards, etc.

Any thoughts on this ? Anyone know how much this panel would be to replace from Vauxhall or would it be cheaper to pass to a company such as Chipsaway. Again any idea how much this would cost.

    Thanks Mike

Thanks for th eresponses. I'll try the heat fix, with a piece of glue to hold the tear. I'll pop into Halfords to see what they have to offer.

The is the actual part damaged. You can just see it to the right of the text.

Thanks Chris. Does the top trim come as seperate to the bottom or is it a whole card for the side door?

How much for the trim if all else goes wrong !

    Cheers

    Mike
