Default Painting and attaching a spoiler...

Just become proud owner of a spoiler thanks to ralph wiggum, just need to paint it and attach it now. He gave me a couple of tips, anyone got anything to add to make my life a bit easier? If anyone can answer the following questions I'd be grateful...

    - Which paint should I go for? Halfords or Vx? Car is black sapphire.
    - How much paint/primer/lacquer am I likely to need?
    - What grades of paper should I rub it down with and at what stages in the priming/painting process?

    Cheers.

    Vehicle : Vectra cdti estate

    Trim : Get a

    Engine : Dirty diesel

    Year : 2006

    Default

get vx paint, 2 cans should do the job, comes with laquer as a 2 part kit around £7.00 each kit so about £14.00ish all in, grey primer about £4.00 for a large can,

give it a good rub down with 1200 grit wet and dry paper, wetting frequently .......

    clean and let dry,

apply grey primer about 3 - 4 coats, 1 coat about every 10 mins or so,

let dry for about 1 hr or so,

rub down again after with 1200 grit, apply paint as many coats as you can get out of can's allow 15 mins drying time per coat,

let dry overnight and laquer as applying paint
