    Default Warranty Is Worthless!!! :(

Well today folks I made my first warranty claim and got knocked back by vauxhall arnold clark.

story: new year's day my car breaks down, so I call out the AA who take a look and tell me my radiator has dislodged and is now leaking and so will probably need replacing. take it to arnold clarks, simply because its a 05 54 reg with 25,000 miles and I assume it will be covered by warranty, otherwise it would have went to an independant. so they call me today to tell me its £28 to just inspect the damage call me again to tell me its not covered by warranty and I'll need to fork out £300 to fix it. absolutely fuming.

so what is the point of a warranty if it ends up costing more than normal by taking it to a dealer rather than an independent who'd be cheaper.

any ideas why it aint covered, I hardly think a radiator comes under wear and tear, and what exactly is covered by warranty then??

I'd seriously question why it isn't covered for starters - what exactly has gone wrong in the first place.

I'd also stick two fingers up at Arnold Clark and go somewhere else. £28 to inspect the damage? WTF!!!!???

    Go elsewhere m8.

The ratio of good reports to bad reports for Arnold Clarke is a wide one. I fail to see how they do any business at all. Go to a proper garage mate. Most robbers wear masks!

well on christmas day I slid on black ice, the wheels locked and I lost control, the front wheels hit off the kerb bout 10mph. doubt this could have wrecked a radiator tho.

none of the bodywork, etc. got damaged either, or the tyres, and I didnt tell the dealer bout my wee slidey slidey either. so I'm puzzled as to why they said it aint covered by warranty. unless they are psychic.

yep, im guessing its under network Q still as well? get onto vauxhall customer care, and network Q if relevent and tell them the same thing. Im 99% sure they will have it fixed with no problems. Its just Arnold clark trying to get money out both you and vauxhall. I'd also ring Arnold clark head office and complain.

Does everyone know that after the first year it's a "restricted" warranty and does not cover everything?.............and as far as the wheels are concerned they are covered for a whole 300miles or 3months ..........3year warranty I don't think so.............we should en-mass approach Vauxhall about that.

It could have something to do with the parent company in the States possibly filing for bancruptcy under chapter 15 I think it is
