Default lowering my car, stupid questions

Got permission from the other half to lower my car , she might even buy me the kit for my birthday in 3 weeks. Now the stupid questions. Do i just need springs and shocks ? Is it better to buy springs/shocks seperate or a full kit together ? What about bushes ? And is there a link with pictures to help me with this, not done it myself for 15yrs

I was looking at the gmax springs and dropping it 40mm, just can't find a full gmax kit, would have to buy seperate shocks.

Which shocks are best then ? And do i need anything else ? Presuming i just jack up the car and take mine off and replace, no special tools required is there ? Done it before on my old cortina so hoping things haven't changed that much.

a bit similar to the old 'tina...

you will need coil spring compressors for the fronts and torx sockets/insert bits..

for shocks, get bilsteins from LMF.....

Doesn't sound to bad then, can paint my callipers while i'm doing it hopefully. See what tools my brother has got. Are the spring compressers to get old ones out, cause new ones would be smaller anyway wouldn't they and just fit in ?

they still need nipping down a bit to get the top plate back on on the fronts...you can do the backs without any compressors..
