    Default diy dent repairs

    has anyone attempted diy paintless dent repairs? how did you get on?

    it's an artform......

    i've been 'banging out' dents for a while now and i'm only 50/50 on it...you have to be very careful to move all the damage, not to localise your force in one place...and have a long selection of 'spoons' to get right in from the back wher you can...

    if you localise the force you'll make a pinpoint highspot and you'll never lose it....work slowly and really think about it

    when you say spoons do you meen actual spoons or the things you buy of ebay under the smart repair tools?

    spoons are oldschool bodyshop tools...long shaped metal tools to apply pressure. dress back against...

    they have the tendency to give you the 'pin points' until you really know how to use them...so i'd avoid those without proper training..

    i think im better leaving it with the proffesionals ,me and car bodys have a long and expensive history together.my old 2001 modeo had a stone chip on the bonnet ,long story short ended up as a bonnet respray.

    Never attempt it unless you have had training. Don't think I have ever seen a D.I.Y. attempt that made the damage look better.
