confused I hope the ECU is re-learning !

Had to do a short trip this afternoon to the dealers to book the car in for it's first service and noticed on the trip computer i'm averaging 19.3 mpg since the remap went in, down from 24.7mpg.
Is this the ECU re-learning or is this mpg, with steady driving the norm after remapping ?
If this is the normal mpg i can expect, then the car may go (after 8 weeks of ownership) and be replaced with a VXR instead. May aswell have the VXR 2.8 and do 20 mpg than a 2.0T and do 19 mpg.

Have consideration for the deaf, if you're gunna fart, make it smell !

Or you are getting a buzz from all the new power and flooring it all the time. Mind you at that MPG you are worse off than I am with mine.

With a re-map, you should see better mpg with normal driving, but at the beggining you don't realise how much you are using the new power.

    It will get better.

Yup, I can see the 305 BHP VXR kitted out logic in that (anyways, I'm averaging 22-24 mpg)

I've heard that the 2.0Turbos aren't particularly good on MPG.... in fact... I was reading on the 'other' forum earlier today that the Corsa VXR owners are only getting an average of 22-24 mpg !!!... I was shocked... as thats only a 1.6 turbo. and it wasnt just one owner, it was several Corsa VXR owners agreeing

Lead right foot Phil? But you may suffer with a bit of over boost until you re-learn how to drive with restraint.

You will not get better economy unless you change your driving style. The extra torque allows you to stay in higher gears more, thus keeping the revs down and using less fuel. If you don't change your driving style after the remap you will use more fuel. More air + more fuel at the same rpm = more fuel used... no doubt about it.

I filled the 2.0t to the brim yesterday with bp ultimate and am driving like a saint just to see what the max mpg the 2.0t can get, so far the trip computer reads

40 miles (no motorway miles yet)
    avg speed 30mph
    36.2mpg

I want to get 500miles out of the tank
