Default 3.0 V6 CDTi tick over noise

I am just curious if anyone here with a 3.0 V6 CDTi Euro IV engine gets like a "WOW (1 second gap) WOW (1 second gap) WOW (1 second gap) WOW etc" sound when their engine is ticking over?

I hear it on mine and am curious as to what it would be and if it is normal.

I think you maybe hearing the aux drive belt or one of the rollers from the tensioner, alternator, water pump, see if it comes from the drivers side of the engine near the air filter.

And try turning the steering with it running to see if it makes any difference.

Sounds about right. I will try and listen later on. Nothing to worry about then?

I did take it to my lcoal Vauxhall dealer a few months back and one guy listened to it and said it was normal for that engine. I just wanted to check on this forum too. A neutral place.
