A mate of mine, 'Baz' Barwood was killed on Friday in Basra.
He was only an MT driver, just goes to show you don't have to be actually fighting out there to be at risk.
RIP Baz. My thoughts are with your family.

It's easy to see this as 'just a news item', forgetting of the impact on the friends and family. This kind of event should be front page news so it never slips out of peoples minds.
they only let you see what they want you to see
thoughts and prayers to baz's friends and family, may he rest in piece

yep.. its scary to think that the cob is still getting attacked all the time... I am out there all the time.. mams.. and it aint good.. had a few close calls when we was last there.. i was 20m away from *** ****** when it was hit... thank god for the blast walls as i was on the other side...
also just after i got aeromeded home, one of my team took a direct hit with shrapnel and he nearly lost his arm.. scary as it could of been me there... luckily the team leader whotook over my team saved his life...
scary.. just hope it will be all over soon...
