    Default Blow back!

Has anyone else had this? While filling with diesel yesterday I was watching the pound signs mount up, it clicked off at about £28.40. I slowly squeezed the 60odd pence in to round it up as I always do. When I turned round to remove the filler nozzle, to my horror, I discovered about 50 pence worth of diesel all over the car, a nice little pool on the floor that I was standing in and my leg and foot covered in the stuff

I can only assume there was some sort of air lock in the tank as its never done that before, nor has any other car I have owned. Has anyone else ever had this happen? Now my car stinks of diesel as its all over the mat too

Happened to me just last week at sainsbury's

had to throw away the trainers i had on coz i cant get the deisel out.

the woman in the petrol station said it was a dodgy safety cut off valve on the pump and it happened to a few others.

i suggested she stop others using it!!!!!

A couple of times in the past I have actually jet washed the mats, cleans them up nice but they take a bit of drying.

I've had it happen at a Sainsbury's too!! - the only difference being it was a petrol pump, as opposed to diesel - although same difference as they're delivered from the same pump.

Exactly the same as you Big Sig. I fill up until I get the first click, then I continue filling until I get a second click (and then add the smidge extra to get to a round figure). This time it didn't give a second click, it just splurted petrol out the filler cap as it overfilled.

Yep thats it D, although I didn't wait for a second click, just the first one and round it up. I felt a right tit as it was really busy, going into the shop covered in diesel!
