Default Help upgrading to CDC40 Dab please............

    Hi all,

I have aquired a CDC 40 Opera, screen and dab box all tech II'd out.

My old unit has been tech II'd out and will be sold in the near future (CD30 along with screen).

The new screen has been fitted along with the radio and been tech II'd back in and all is working fine with the exception of DAB.

Now the question is am I going to be able to use the dab unit?

I know it is supposed to sit under the passenger side bulkhead but I cannot find the harness if there is one.

    Anyone got any ideas?????

    Cheers

Car is 1.9 cdti SRi 2005/05

You'll need to get the DAB harness, plus you'll also need the DAB aerial and its harness as the normal aerial won't run the DAB unit.

I can sense the Visa card getting a hit again

If I get the harness will it all just plug in somewhere then without having to hard wire it in?

I think you would have to route it from the back of the CDC40 to the DAB box location in the footwell, I believe its only fitted to cars that actually have the CDC40 fitted at the factory and therefore not present on non-CDC40 cars.

Do a search for Dennis the Menace threads and you'll find a few pics of the locations as he took most of his car apart to find them lol!

There is a loom that runs between the dab unit and the headunit , it looks intergrated into the loom so dont be shocked if you need a dash loom , easiest would be to find a wrecked one and cut the plugs off but leave enough so you can make you own loom going colour to colour on the plugs
    DAB location,
The DAB box is sited at the end of the relays on the L/H/S of the glove box
looking at the dash , its held in bu a couple of 10 or 8 mm nuts
the pics are here somewhere , and as said the ariel is different the extra one running to the DAB box and its terminated with a fakra connection.

also the cdc40 has different door speakers to the rest of the range 18cm 2ohm jobbies , plus there is the centre channel that lives under the grill on the dash top vent .

you can enable the subwoofer on the unit as well , ive got a little pioneer in the rear quarter , its nothing special the cdc 40 considering its the top spec unit , but after having a cd30 in a hire zafira its loads better !!

No , you will need to make your own if you look on the pinout diagram on top of the unit you will see sub - and sub + its in mono
    Heres mine

    and the sound menu

all you can do is increase or reduce the level to the sub

cant find the pics of the dab box location , i will have a look on me pc and see if i can find them.
