    Default Fuel Filter

    Having run my car for 3 months now(n thanks to this site being at least £600 the poorer) im thinkin ofchangin the fuel filter.The cars nudging 40k n im guessin its about time it was changed..is it woth doing? easy enuff? n where exactly is it?..

    did mine yesterday,its about underneath the backseat behind the driver(under the car) its a bit stiff to get out but eventually it comes out.be careful as the fuel filter holder is plastic and dont look that strong.

    the plastic clips can be an utter nightmare to get off without the correct tool..so be careful..and be warned.. expect a small amount of fuel to spill...

    i actually sprayed mine with wd40 and slid it out. i then repeated the procedure when putting the new one in , couldnt see how it came off.

    do the fuel pipes come off easy enough? thinking about doing mine. But i had a mare trying to do my A3, could not get the fuel pipes off the filter. Gave up in the end and left it!

    The proper pliers are on ebay for a tenner a set,do a search for fuel coupling pliers and you should find them.
