    Default BSR PPC -Question ?

When my BSR PPC Remap comes, can it be put into the car straight away or as i've heard said, do BSR themselves have to send the remap data to you via email .
    Confused !!!

It should just go straight into the car. As you'll have given your VIN to wherever you bought it from (LMF?) the PPC unit will come with the remap for your car already loaded - it should just be plug and play. The PPC unit will only fail to upload the remap, and get you to read the car, if it detects any difference in the car to what it's expecting - the failsafe part of the PPC kit. It'll never let you upload a map unless the unit has a 100% match with what it's expecting to be in the car. So far it's mainly been on engines like the 1.9 CDTi where the unit has had to read the car (due to the nature of those ECUs) and on my Stage 3. Pretty much every Stage 1 for a 2.0T, that I'm aware of, has gone in first time. Worst case scenario is the unit will ask to read the car, you then upload that original map to BSR and they send you a tweaked map for your car. Experience, and other guys comments, has shown that will usually come back the next day after uploading it.

So that's why you ended up at MIJ last month ! You just popped out for the paper and couldn't stop ! The new exhaust system was just a bonus .

Mine was very simple, I plugged it in, the PPC stated 'Read Car' I did this, plugged into my PC, Syncronised with BSR.

4 hours later, I got an e-mail back from BSR, sycronised again and then loaded to the car.

Very easy, no hassle and the results are worth it.

I am doing a rolling road day with the Leicestershire Region of the VxlSCC on Saturday so will post up my results after.
