    Default Ford Dealers...ARRGGGHHHH

Carrying on from my thread about trying to buy another car,i visited a Ford dealer(don't shoot me!).

I asked to see/test drive a 1.6 petrol or a 2.0 petrol. The salesman said that Ford don't sell many petrols now and so they only have diesel's available.I asked how much and was told £17,500.

I said "I'm not paying £17,500 for a Ford" and the salesman said "yes but it will hold its value even better than a BMW".

By now i was getting p1ssed off with him.
He then went on to say that Ford weren't producing their cars on mass but now to order.I asked what the delivery time was and was told 3 months.

I said that for £17,500 i could buy a Mazda 6 or a Honda Accord(which came in 2nd and 3rd in reliability charts). He then made out that the Ford was better built than the 2 above and also BMW.

What happened to Ford producing cars for the masses.

Needless to say i didn't bother any further and departed.

What is it with dealers?I tell them that i have £15,000 to spend and i either get that i should be spending more or that somehow my money isn't good enough.

Only Mazda have been brilliant with me and the car i'm looking at is £15,100 (list).
Guess who's going to get my custom.........

As per my earlier comments about Mazda - brilliant all the way - I ordered a new Mazda 6 Sport 2.0 Diesel a couple of weeks ago and I am expecting delivery next week.

Utter Rubbish - the depreciation would be equal if not more depending on spec and usual key model choice......

Oh right - so the salesman thinks he is selling Aston Martin's eh? Ford always has relied on Fleet sales and mass market buyers......

My money would be with Mazda too.

Try another F%RD dealer though - I wouldnt judge a brand by one jumped up salesman.....
